Life Coaching

Are you ready to live the amazing life that you want and deserve?

My brand of Life Coaching is all about helping my clients get what they truly want and need to be happy.  Too many of us in modern society are willing to settle for a less than spectacular life.  We have given up on being truly happy and have settled for just getting through the day.  I will admit that I settled for that life for years when I was a chef.  Until I found my life’s passion and calling as a coach, I’m not sure I knew what happy was.  I do now, and it is amazing.

What sets my style of life coaching apart from something like traditional therapy is that it is behavior-based.  There is certainly a role for therapy, but it often doesn’t directly address the changes we need to make in the present to make our lives better.   In coaching we do seek a deeper understanding and awareness.  The difference is that we actively seek to use that awareness to change behavior.  When we can change our behavior, we can change our results and craft the lives that we want.  In other words, we can figure out why we get stuck and can’t quite seem to make the changes we want to in order to live that ever-elusive awesome life.

Of course the next question is how do I do this.  The answer is that coaching is a relationship.  I come to every session with an open mind and an open heart.  I am non-judgmental and as objective as anyone can be.  There are always ways in which we know ourselves the best.  But we often lack the perspective we need in order to make the changes we want.  Having an objective person who has no agenda other than your success can be invaluable in the process of understanding yourself and your actions.

I also take pride in bringing a practical element that not all coaches bring.  I have a huge metaphorical toolbox filled with real life strategies to manage our complicated lives in today’s fast-paced world.  It is never my job to tell my clients what to do, though it is often my job to help my clients push themselves to make the changes they tell me they want to make.  I gently and kindly hold them accountable, not to me, but to themselves.

Someone recently asked me who is a good candidate for life coaching.  The answer is anyone who wants his or her life to be better tomorrow than it is today.   I have a great life, but I still benefit greatly from the ongoing relationship I have with my coach.  Here are some examples of topics that often come up with my clients:

  • Work/Life Balance
  • Time Management
  • Self Care, i.e. Diet, Exercise, Sleep, Mindfulness
  • Stress Management
  • Life Transitions
  • Anger Management
  • Career Transitions & Job-Related Issues
  • Relationship Issues
  • Managing Anxiety
  • Other Interpersonal Issues
